Board-certified psychiatric NP

Your nervous system isn't broken.
It's just stuck in send mode.

I'm Dara, a psychiatric nurse practitioner who spent 15 years watching stress wreck bodies in the ICU. Now I translate real neuroscience into resets you can actually do on a Tuesday. No cold plunge required.

Education, not medical advice. Always your call with your own provider.

The Reset Framework™

Five levers. That's the whole system.

Most anxiety advice tells you to calm down. This tells you which switch to flip, and why your body listens to it.

01

Light

Your circadian clock takes orders from your eyes, not your calendar. Ten minutes of morning light sets the cortisol curve for the entire day.

02

Breath

You can't think your way calm. A longer exhale than inhale is the fastest direct lever you have on the vagus nerve. No app needed.

03

Minerals

Magnesium, B6, and glycine are cofactors your brain needs to make GABA. Depleted stores mean a nervous system driving without brakes.

04

Pause

Anxiety lives in the half-second between trigger and reaction. Widen that gap by two breaths and you change the outcome, not just the feeling.

05

Awareness

You can't retrain a pattern you can't see. Naming what your body just did isn't journaling for fun. It's the actual intervention.

Anxiety isn't a character flaw. It's a prediction your body is making, and predictions can be updated.

Who's talking

Fifteen years in critical care taught me what stress does to a body.

I watched it in real time: heart rates, cortisol, sleep debt, people arriving at the worst version of a problem that started years earlier. Then I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner and spent a fellowship learning the functional and integrative side too. Same nervous system, upstream instead of downstream.
